|I`ve finally got my 2011 Sonata Turbo Limited on Dec 3rd. I`ve negotiated winter tires and the dealer installed them at delivery. They are 215/60 R16. Since taking delivery it`s being snowing every day and I can say that it is as good if not better in snow/ice than my Honda Civic.|
I know the logic because of downsizing is to reduce the width of the tires typically but aren't both the stock 17" and 18" wheels both 7.5" wide so the difference would be negligible with equal snow tires put on both?
In my other car I've gone from a 16x7.5" tire to 13x6.5" tire in the winter and that makes a noticeable difference but I'm attributing that more to the width than the smaller diameter.
Does the pressure of the tire have any factor in the snow handling since lower profile tires typically need higher PSI?
