Extended warranty?

All,

Since i just got this new to me HSH which now has 9200 miles on it, I am probably going to inquire with a local Hyundai dealer on an extended warranty. I have time to shop around and try to find the best price. I only want to go with a genuine plan. I figure if i have the vehicle for a while I dont want to deal with replacing super costly hybrid parts.

I had a bumper to bumper equivalent with 0 deductible on my Jeep for 7/70k and it was the best thing i ever got. I understand that this is not my Jeep and everyone claims this vehicle is reliable but id still like to inquire on something similar for my HSH.

Any thoughts on this? Anything to watch out for, opinions? - Mike

Was the car sold as Hyundai 'Certified'? Certified cars carry the full warranty of a new car sale while 2nd owners get the remainder of the 6/60.

You have 50,000 miles and 4.5-5 years until your current bumper to bumper warranty expires. I don't think you'd save much buying now vs. in a year or two... And I think by then you'll have a much better idea of whether you'll need one

If lots of little problems start developing, then get the warranty (or just sell the car and buy something more reliable). Otherwise, just save the couple grand.

My $.02.
