Constant Low Tire Pressure

2012 HSH with 3,015 miles (4 months old). had to put air in 3 of the 4 tires four separate times. Tires were low on pressure when sensor light came on. Anyone have similar issue. Is this normal?

How much too low were they? Did this happen around the same time as weather changes?

Remember that tire pressure can be affected by air temperature. If you are keeping the tires at the manufacturer's recommended pressure, then a drop in night-time temps can cause the warning light to come on in the morning. It happens to my wife's vehicle a couple times a year. I haven't had it happen in my HSH, but I also bumped my pressures above manufacturer's recommendation prior to any real weather changes.

If it is not happening very frequently (more than once per week) and without corresponding changes in air temp, then I suspect that both Hyundai and the tire manufacturer will say that it is normal.

Touring the greater Houston area and trying to save a little gas doing it!

Thanks jglopic. Each time the sensor light came on the air pressure gauge suggested 25-ish. Each time it is usually a front tire that's low (once the rear driver side). I keep all 4 tires at 35 when I fill one low tire. I never experienced low tires on any previous cars that I owned.

Garage
Most car tires lose 1-2 psi per month, its perfectly normal. A good accurate tire gauge and mini air compressor will help you with this problem. Always check and inflate tires cold.

Happened to me once the first really cold night this fall. Invested in a good gauge and topped off all the tires at 34PSI
It has not happened again

I went through the similar case in my other car, Chrysler T&C.
The low tire pressure light on in a winter season, but it kept repeating almost every 3-4 weeks till summer.
I found only one tire occurred it, and tried to find the leaking hole, but failed.
I suspected the TPM sensor was too sensitive, but it was resolved since replaced the tire..

If you keep losing too much air each month take the car in and ask them to break the bead, rotate the tire on the rim and reseat the tire and see if maybe there isn't something between the bead and the rim that is allowing the air to escape. I had that problem with my old Trailblazer once and when they reset the bead it sealed the problem.

Yes I would think you have a leak or kids playing games in the neighborhood. Weather changes can affect also as previously stated.

Yes, tire bead to the rim can be a problem. They also have some sort of sealer they can use to help seal the bead on the rim.
