Hi,

I am new here and been searching the forum for similar issue on my particular car model but didn't find any. I'm on my wits end about an tachometer issue in my 2002 santa fe 2.7L engine. I did replace the CKP sensor and still the tachometer is on and off (but mostly off) when car is running. Is there any other sensor that sends signals to PCM to drive the tachometer gauge? I've seen other santa fe models have some kind of ICM that feeds to PCM, but the 2.7L doesn't have any of that module I think. Any help is appreciated thanks.

I am having this same issue. The tach is flakey, sometimes works, sometimes doesn't, but the engine performance does not suffer.

Interesting to note, speedometer does not work, hasn't since I rebuilt the sucker (it sat for more than a year). Perhaps related?

Also, I have a check engine code for crankshaft sensor (even though I just replaced it). It runs along just fine, then starts misfiring on random cylinders, rough idle, and limited acceleration. I turn the car off, then restart it and its just fine. But I think this is a separate issue.

To stay on topic, can you point me in the direction of a dash removal guide for an '02 Santa Fe 2.7 so I can check out the instrument cluster. And what am I really looking for once I get back there?

Anything would be helpful, thanks!!
