Well looking at the 70k service bill, an MOT, an intermittant ABS sensor light (call it a thousand pounds), and the fact that it flooded the street with blue smoke when I started it it makes sense to shoot the Sante Fe and walk away.

So I swapped it at the dealership where I bought it from. They sold it to me in 2009 with 34k on the clock and have done all the servicing, and warranty work (clutch, diff, abs sensor) in the meant time. I got the book figure trade in against a two year old i30 estate (so moving topics) premium spec so it's pretty much the same toys and leather etc... of course the 1.6 diesel takes a little more rowing along than the 2.0 diesel in the Santa Fe but I am not going to miss those fuel bills.

It's now on their forcourt for 7.5k which is 700 more than they sold it to me in 2009 - cheeky. I wish them luck, they are a good dealership and it's a fine product.
