I have a 2003 Santa Fe that had a corroded leaking power steering return line. I want to replace both the high pressure and the low pressure lines coming from the steering box. The high pressure removed quite easily. I cannot get the low pressure out. Everything is broken free. Is there a trick to this? I want to see how it comes out so I can put the new one in same way. Appreciate any guidance!

Ok I finally figured this out myself. The lower return metal line that lies on the inside of the unibody frame that connects to the rubber transition hose then to the cooler. This line needs to be lifted and pulled/moved to the right outer part of the uniframe. towards the front passenger wheel. You can then snake it out through the wheel well under the plastic skirting. You don't need to remove the wheel but it does make it easier. To replace either the high pressure hose or the low pressure return it is best to loosen/remove all the connecting brackets. Remove high pressure line first. That just snakes out through the top of engine compartment. Then remove lower. It is good to have 2 people but I did this over a few days by myself.

How did you disconnect the lines from the steering box? I can't get the 17mm wrench I have in there with enough room to turn the flare nuts.

Did you use a stubby wrench? Did you use a flare-nut specific wrench? Something else?
