Yes and no. Yes they will fit but the diameter will be 5% larger meaning that when your speedo shows 60mph your actually going 63mph. Most all tire place recamend that you stay within 3% of the stock diameter. A 215/55 16 is 1.5% larger, and a 215/50 16 is 1.5% smaller. I would stick with one of those or the stock size.
In a word, NO! Rims must have the correct bolt hole configuration. They must also fall within the correct "offset" parameters. See that itty-bitty hole in the center of the wheel? Any wheel you buy must have a center hole large enough to fit over the center hub of your rotors. Do your research. A little knowledge beforehand sure pays dividends in the end...to say nothing about less headaches.
There's a ton of info in this forum about what you are wanting to do. And the members will help you, as well. My best advice: Research, research, research.
Thanks Rich.
I even called the dealer for more information on the rims so that if I'm buying them aftermarket I can get the right ones. All they knew was to get 5 bolt 16'' ones, and buy from the dealer to avoid mismatch issues.
They couldn't tell me any other details about the offset.
If anyone knows what the other parameters are for the 2013 Elantra rims, please share.
Thanks
The elantra is junk never handled well in rain or snow i have a 2012 with 16" tires. I could not go over 45 on wet pavement or snow others were doing 70mph. I decided to go with the michelin defenders after weeks of research and its like driving a 4x4 now compared to old tires, which only had 39,000 miles on them. I highly recommend these tires, however i still hate the car, but the Defenders make this car much safer.
I have a 2013 Elantra and it has 17" tires. I have had 2 tire rotations already at 18,000 miles and it still wobbles at 55MPH. Husband thinks it is the low profile tires being driven on gravel roads. Could that be the issue and can I change the tires to 15 inch so they are no longer low profile and may work better on the gravel. Call dealer they just wanted me to pay and have them rotated again. Help!!!!
give specs on all stock wheels. bolt pattern, offset, etc
