Water pump is external to the timing belt cover, can be changed without disturbing timing belt. Easier to change antifreeze often and avoid the problems.

You need to check to see if you're getting power...

You need to check to see if you're getting power to the motor first. Pull off the connector and see if there's power. Chances are your switch is bad.
