You're mechanic is full of.... O2 sensors are cheap and they're all made by somebody else anyways. The problem is putting them in and guaranteeing the repair. You have a 3.5L engine.

Can you scan for codes and connect to the ecu? If so, it's probably good.

Check for spark. If no spark, I'd say you have a problem with your cps installation.
