Cooling fan

Hey all, I have a 2000 tiburon and have a question about the cooling fans. The fan on passenger side comes on when the air conditioner comes on but the one on drivers side does not. With the a/c off the fan on passengers side kicks on when it gets hot enough and kicks off when it cools down. I thought the fan on drivers side was suppose to do this not the a/c fan? I hooked drivers side fan to battery and it comes on. I also checked relay and it was o.k Any ideas what the problem is?

There might not BE a problem.

Some models over the years have had "progressive" fans......and the second one doesn't turn on until things get REALLY in the gauge starts heading for the red part.

Before you waste anymore time and money, you need to find out for sure how your specific model is SUPPOSED to work.

Easy Rider is right, the fan operation changes through the model years. The second fan may not come on until near overheat.
