Some "track" pics of my Accent on the Nürburgring:

The nicest part about the Nürburgring Nordschleife is that it is a one-way public toll road, so everybody with a drivers license and a road legal vehicle (even mopeds, vans, etc.) is allowed to drive there. So you are allowed to race on a public road. You have to love the Germans because of that, don't you?

I have been there for 2 times. The first time with the original Michelin Energy Saver tires, which resulted in screeching tires and noticeable (but controllable) understeer in every corner. However I could keep up with the Mitsubishi Eclipse driving in front of me (which is shown in one of the pics, with my Accent in the background). In the last picture I am overtaken by a yellow Škoda Fabia RS, which has about 100 hp more than my Accent.

The second time I had my 16" alloys with Falken tires under the Accent, a huge improvement. I actually managed to overtake two cars that should be much faster: a BMW 3series (twice, as he took me over at a strait part because of his higher top speed) and a Audi A3. My eventual bridge-to-gantry-time was 11:40 minutes

I would like to post a link to youtube, as I recorded the second time on the Nürburgring with my dashcam. However I am only allowed to place links after I am a member for a week. So I will add that one in a week.

My brother and I frequent local go-kart tracks that allow full size cars. We also run AutoX and big tracks (Streets of Willow and Big Willow) when we have time. We both have turbo miatas. Im driving my brothers in the short clip below. Trying to sneak in a drift and not get kicked out of the AutoX ;)

Here's my 2014 GT Automatic that will never see the track time.

Both of these cars have a garrett 2560R. Neither car has turbo lag, they are pretty much in boost all the time. My red car has a 99 motor and is pushing 6 psi. The white car has a 95 motor and is pushing 9 psi. Both put down low 190s to the wheels. Both are capable of around 230hp to the wheels with more boost and a better clutch. We had the white one at 220 for awhile but the clutch wasn't very happy.

I think its around 2300-2400 pounds. The white car is totally gutted so I'm guessing its around 1900. I have been wanting to get them weighed just haven't gotten around to it. Miatas are great/fun cars with very little work. I have had quite a few and they are fun in every form, stock/slightly modded or boosted. Each one has its place. This is more of a hpd car. If I was going to do a race car I would never turbo it. This car does a few laps and comes off. Never more than 20-30 min on the track.

I always liked the NA8 Miata, always had a "classy" look to it especially with the forest green/tan color combination. Too bad im way too tall to drive one of them, if I weren't I so would have one.

I agree with turbo cars make for pretty bad track cars, although now more and more Turbo cars have been tweeked to keep up if not drive better than NA cars in Auto X's

here is a very early morning warm-up run we did. the road surface was still cool, and roads still had puddles, so we took it slow. but its still enjoyable to watch. :)
