Wanted to pass this info along.... it came from another Go-4 owner while I was tracking down adjustments for my 2006 Governor!
"Do you know how to remove the trunk? There is a wing-nut inside the trunk above the license plate. Remove it and slide the lid of the trunk back. Then, behind the cab is an aluminum box mounted with two bolts. Open that and look for a square cup that has multiple wires going i to it. It is potted, or filled, with a black plastic material. You will see a small screw that you can turn with your fingernail. I for get which way to turn. Just experiment. Be careful, as these things aren't meant to go too fast! ------------ Bryan Lowe"
Also here is the adjustment information once you find the elusive little bugger.....
"one full turn (right) increases and one (left) decreases the speed by 5 mph ------------ Mike Warren"
A lot of information about these "SLC's" (Silly Little Cars) may be found by crawling through http://sillylittlecars.com/ and the e-mail archives!
If you figured out how to by-pass the governor please let me know, I have been working on one , engine runs good ,it will idle smooth for up to 20 minutes , start skipping governor light will come on and it will knock off. It is a 1997 GO 4. thanks for any help
Just wanted to stop back in with my update ... I was able to locate the governor. Unfortunantly the manf and dealers were NOT friendly or helpful. They view the GO-4 as a "municipal" vehicle and NOT for general public. So after tearing everything apart I was able to locate and bypass the speed governor I've had the cart to 65mph and it was scary as far as stability goes ... I believe 50 - 55 mph is perfect speed and that's as far as I will go. At 65 there was still pedal left!
Should anybody in future need info on speed limiting governor on a Westward Industry GO4 Interceptor you can contact me and I will try to walk you through the process.
