today i picked up our car from the body shop. we have used this shop a few times in the past, they are very close, and they do excellent work. they had just built a nice showroom with an office in it. and the owner had in there, a 1928 bmw dixi boattail roadster. one of 4 known in the world. wtf. small town we live in, pop like 3500, and such a car is here. car was unrestored, but in very good original condition, runs and drives. i was amazed.

Ha, thought you may be from India with that cow thing.

Also like that old stuff, few years ago had the opportunity to drive a 1903 Buick, this is after I oiled the valve train, no valve cover, have to do this every couple of hours ago. Guy wanted to part with it, like brand new, but that price tag. Would have had to sell everything I owned, cash in my retirement and perhaps even rob a bank. But very thankful for this once in a lifetime opportunity.

Biggest mistake I every made was restoring a Model A when it was only 40 years old, could still find NOS stock parts, but had to chase all over the country to find them, but like everything else, storage space, more junk, decided something had to go. After advertising it for two years, finally got an offer that just let me recover my investment, all my hard labor went for free.

Would have much better off to use my time to build a new home and sell it. Watch Velocity channel from time to time with all these billionaires buying this old stuff, guess no luck in finding a billionaire.
