Hey Guys! I bought my accent a month ago...and still no plates? I'm in California...when do you usually get them ?

The fact is that I'm moving the 1st of September..and want to get them before I move...

The dealer when I bought it said it will get to your mail in a month but nothing yet

Thanks in advanced!

That Sucks! Ontario, your car has plates when you come back with proof of insurance and a check.

I've only had one instance where the dealer supplied me with a plate and my 30 day tag was within a day or two from expiring. *Nail biting experience, the clock was ticking and the dealer was sitting around with their thumbs up their butt. *

With this car, I bought it in a different state, so they gave me a temporary tag. Once I got the paperwork I was able to transfer my previous car's plate over to this one, had it done in less than 2 weeks.

Haven't ever been west of the Mississippi, so I couldn't tell you about CA. *I hear their DMV is a real model of efficiency. :P

I live in Sac, and it took me about 8 weeks to get my plates. CA DMV takes 6-8 weeks usually to send anything out. File a change of address with the post office, and you should get it forwarded to your new address. Until then your Dealer papers will be fine.

It depends where you live in California. Here the DMV handed me a set of Plates, and Stickers too! Asked for my Florida Plate back. Gave it to them. Then Florida wanted their plate back. Florida can make your Drivers License in 10 minutes. In California it can take ten Weeks. In my Remote California area, Smog [b]Extortions are only required every 6 Years. In most of the State it is every two Years! Go Prop 215!

Some dealers will give them to you when you take it home...no temp tags.

I ordered custom plates last year and waited a little over two months. So aggravating but worth the wait!!!

It takes about 30 days and an hour in Oklahoma. 30 days for the temporary tag to expire and about an hour at the local tag agency depending on the line....haha.
