|when i was buying mine dealer told me i can cut the key in home depot and it will work so don't think it has a chip, beside that the valet key is just a regular key without black plastic housing and it is working with the car so i would say no chip|
LOL.. go ahead and try to get Home Depot cut one for ya... Home Depot, Lowes and even Pep Boys by me didn't have the correct template for the key when I tried to get extras made... i had to go to the dealer and they cut me 2 extras for no charge (surprise surprise)...
but 'tis true, no chip...

|No, there is no chip in a Sonata key. The only vehicle Hyundai sells (US) that has a "normal" key (not proximity key) that is chipped is the Azera. They are a serious PITA to get one cut and programmed for a customer.|
