About month ago, my cabin lights stopped coming on when I open the door. I can turn the lights on, so it is not bulbs. It's a pain to come home at night and not have the lights come on for a few minutes as I get out of the car.

Any ideas? I am an novice at auto repair. Is this something simple I could repair myself?

one of the switches on your dome activates door lights--one switch manually turns on dome light--the other switch sets it so the light will come on when doors are opened--sorry for tryin to be funny on previous post

right rear door switch is disconnected...

hey all. was searching for some help with this, and this the only topic i could find.

my right rear door doesn't activate the cabin lights, nor does the security system consider whether the door's opened or not (for instance, i double-unlock the car, open the right rear door, and 30seconds later, all doors lock automatically, regardless of whether the right rear door is open or closed).

i remove the little push-switch that the door presses on, and i see that the switch is nowhere near the connector; it's around a half-inch away.

problem is, i can't seem to find a good tool to pull the connector out so i can plug the switch to it, and simply plugging the switch to it causes the connector to go deeper into the doorjamb (or whatever that's called), because it's not anchored to anything out there.

it may be possible to remove the right rear side seat cushion to gain access to the connector, but i'm not holding my breath (tried removing the seat cushion so i could get to the bolt that holds the side cushion and gave up after too much of a struggle).

any other thoughts on how i can put 1 and 1 together so my door switch works the way it was designed to?

thanks!
