Can anyone tell me what the factory door speaker sizes are front and back, and if I can maybe cut the space for slightly larger speakers, also if it's possible to cut into the rear panel behind the seats below the window to mount at least 2 6"x9" speakers or maybe even a decent powered 8" or 10" subwoofer similar to the 06' and newer Civic Si coupe? Thanks for the info anyone who actually responds! If you know the sizes but not about the cutting on either idea please still respond with the speaker sizes

6 .5" front and rear, and don't start butchering the inner panel for little gain (not much room). Just get yourself a good 5 channel amp (1 channel for the sub, 4 channels for the front & rear).6x9s are a waste of money if you are getting a sub, doors speakers handle the mids and highs. Cutting speakers into the rear deck lid is a PAIN IN THE A$$ and not worth the hassle. Open the trunk and stick your head underneath where it would go you will see why..

You basically smash out the speaker cone in the doors, cut the plastic spiders and attach the new speakers to the plastic ring you created. I have my amp mounted under the deck lid near the factory sub plastic filler, just a 10" sub box. When i get bored i will make a proper fiberglass one and wrap it.

Factory 6.5" front rear as stated. My CDT's were 6.75" and would not fit right in the hollowed out originals. Would not sit flat. I also didn't want it to hit on the door panel. If you look at the factory speaker the door panel leaves a small ring in the foam where it hits it and blocks the air gap so no sound waves reflect off door panel.

I got mine cnc'd for 6.75" and it comes with the foam to seal. They didn't quite line up to the factory rivet holes once drilled but an easy fix.

The factory back deck holds an 8" subwoofer and you can get the factory grill to cover it. IMO it works some for filling in the lows but trunk air space is too big for that size speaker. I also have a powered Kenwood KSC-WA801 which to me sound much better since it's in it's own enclosure. I have to replace the foam on my Bazooka tube so I can try that out. I might also yank the 8" from deck and put it in a small sealed box to see how it works. Current power to sub is Alpine PDX 2.150 (300 watt, 150x2 bridged).
