Check Engine Radiator Fan issue
I have a check engine light on. 2006 Sonata. Ran the diagnostics. It's the radiator fan. I put power directly to the fan and it works. I'm thinking that the relay might be bad. I checked the fuse to the relay and it's fine.
1. Would a bad relay cause the check engine light to come on?
2. Where is the relay?
I looked in the relay/fuse box under the hood and the fuse box near the steering column inside the car. Can't determine if the relay for the fan is one of the ones in the relay box under the hood or not.
Also, I can't get the engine temp past the half way mark. My other question would be --> At what point should the radiator fan come on?
Thanks much for your help.
