hope you hyundai owners can help me out. My gf has a 2008 sonata w/factory receiver.
single CD, no cd changer
has the mp3 label and XM button (if needed I'll post a pic of the receiver)
hope I'm not talking over your heads in the electronic circuit aspect...
[b]wanting to wire in a aux-in for the iPod without going the fm modulator or fm bypass, so I can get CD quality sound. Hoping to use the XM interface that has an AUX input. FM just can't effectively carry the quality sound from the ipod not seen any reviews of fm modulators that have as good quality sound as CD/mp3.
my last resort would be pulling the receiver out and hardwiring relays to allow switching of an aux input with the CD audio signal (ie: electronics work) ... last resort after that is to just get an amp and put relays across the receiver/speaker outputs and switch from receiver to amp... but that is ugly, expecially since I think these come with 6 speakers... plus would get some popping sound as you switch from amp to receiver.
I have read of some luck with using the XM interface or CD changer interface to get a Line-In for the iPod, her car has XM but not a changer controller.
I have seen some XM addons that have an extra Line-In. That would be optimal, hoping to find one where the Line In is enabled without having a subscription to XM.
Or possibly just buying a device that plugs into the XM port on the receiver to allow an aux in (but read that the XM controller can only talk to XM addons)
Have not yanked the receiver to see whats on the back as far as inputs, figured some of you experienced people could have already done that...
Any help appreciated
