I need to remove the rear bumper cover on my 07 - the process appears relatively straight-forward, but it seems to re-install the cover I'll need a new set of bumper cover clips.
Anyone know where I can source those clips at a reasonable price?
Better yet...has anyone else removed their cover and reinstalled, and would care to share the process?
You're right, it is pretty straightforward. I've done this myself AND I didn't have to buy anything. You can safely reuse everything. None of the clips are tight to the point where if you pull, they will break (although it feels like it in certain places).
To make it easy, make sure you've done the following:
1. Remove the taillight assemblies.
2. Remove or fold the felt liner on both sides, inwards. You'll have to peel away the weatherstrip for this.
3. Take out the trunk carpet.
That's pretty much it. Any other screws that need to come off before pulling the bumper are within easy view and reach.
When you try to pull the cover the first time and it's fighting, make sure you didn't miss any screws. Also have a set of trim removal tools so if you have to pry, you don't ruin the paint.
Great info provided here. Watch he will never return. And he drives a 2007 LX?
They didn't make one in 2007, even up North!
