I have recently installed a Pioneer AVH-X3500BHS. Now I have purchased an extension for the USB/AUX in, which I would like to install in the center console where the seat heater switches would be (if I had them.)
There are two narrow and one wide blank plates. The wide one in the center (between the cigarette lighter and aux power, for further reference,) is the perfect size for this unit.
The problem is that I have no idea how to get into the console to run the cable and get the plate out. Also, I pulled the little rubber pad inside that pocket out, but getting it back in doesn't look so easy. (I was hoping to find some screws there.)
Does anyone have instructions for getting in there?

|santa22||Part Number: SWI-RC from PAC audio is what I used to enable my steering wheel controls for my aftermarket Pioneer Radio. There tech support is great. Don't use wire taps. You have to tap into the vehicle radio wire harness connector 1 Pin 11 with the white wire from the PAC module and ground out the pin 12 on connector 1. U also have to connect the red wire for Power to the module And attach the black wire from the module to ground. U need good ground connections for the module to work correctly.|

Did you do the install yourself or did you take it to someone else to do? How much did it all cost you?

2) You can rewire the USB port near the cig lighter to one of the USB inputs on the unit. See the pinout diags at Hyundai tech info. Alternatively, you can rewire it to the Ipod input, if that is what you use.
3) The Nav software and maps reside on the SD card, so pull that and update the maps whenever you please.

A question about those units in general....
(I read abpout the same in a BMW).
1) Does it give the chance to install an external mic? /The built-n one often has interferences).
2) The USB input near the cigarette lighter remains unusable? Or at least... allows to charge any USB device?
I know the unit has its own USB port, but I want to know.
3)Map update through usb card?
