Foglight Remount

My wife was in a very minor fender bender recently and it knocked the right front foglight out. It's just hanging in the bumper cover. There was really no damage when she bumped the car in front of her, but it knocked the foglight out and according to Hyundai broke the mounting bracket that holds it in place.

The light works, everything is fine, but Hyundai tells me I have to replace the entire bumper to fix it.

Question is, do I need to just replace the bumper cover? Can I not just get a mounting kit and replace it? What do I need and what do I need to know?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ive taken my bumper off a couple times (very easy to do) and from what I saw there are 3 or 4 screw posts that are part of the bumper on the inside. The only way I can guess to fix this without replacing the bumper is to super glue the posts back on, but who knows how secure that'll be.

Excellent idea! lol

Now, the bumper cover is what we're talking about here, right fellas? Because if I get under there and these things are broken off and can't be repaired, or the broken pieces are lost (and they surely are by now), I can get a primered bumper cover for $150 minus the cost of paint.

Hey everyone, Im new here...just bought a 2015 Elantra and am loving it (coming from a G35x).

So came across this and wanted to add my knowledge to the pool of thoughts here. I use to be a body tech and still love doing side jobs and messing around here and there. Ive done these repairs a million times and no, you don't have to replace the bumper. There is a very high chance that the plastic "pillars" that the fog light screws into are long gone. If they are still there, great, just epoxy them back on and your good to go. But if they are gone, use a plastic epoxy and build up in layers those pillars that your missing. Let it completely dry, then sand down the tops to the right hight and make it flat for the screws to screw back into. That's all there is to it. I've seen people do it in other ways, like epoxy a dowel rod and then srew into those, ect...but yeah shouldn't cost you more than $15 tops. Hope this helps you.
