My girl friend has the gls and i have the limited. i noticed there are some really noticeable differences. my limited seems to accelerate a bit faster, the car seems to be a bit stiffer and it sits a little higher. I know the wheels on the limited are 17" so that explains the height, but what about the acceleration? they have the same engines? is there any differences in suspension for the stiffness? I also noticed mine can go for 365 miles before refueling, hers is like 310 or 315? Any thing on that?
Hi, me and my wife both have Limited's, which car do you think drives better your Limited or girlfriends Gls, I know in the Limited you feel all the bumps.
I have a Sonata that came with 16" wheels. I purchased some custom 18" wheels with OEM recommended sized sized tires, and when you stand them side-by-side, they are the same height. The rule of thumb seems to be, the larger the wheel, the shorter the sidewall of the tire. The smaller the wheel, the taller the sidewall. I would almost bet if you measured their height from the ground up, you might find they are the same height, unless they are a size other than factory recommended.
I will not state that as a fact. It just happened to be in my case.
I can't explain the acceleration difference. The engines are basically the same. Supposedly the rear shocks on the 14 have been improved. And with the shorter sidewall on the 17 inch rims, you will feel a few more bumps.
maybe thats why i say it feels tighter. I noticed that the rear on the '14 limited feels a little stiffer, doesnt "jump" as much as my '13 gls. my girlfriend noticed these differences also. she hates the sport mode because she gripes its harder for her to turn the wheel, lol.
We had a '12 gls and now a '14 limited. I think the limited just feels a bit tighter overall and almost has a more beefy feel to it. I think the limited rides better and appears to get better mileage.
yeah i noticed it gets better gas mileage too, but then again im driving 25 miles hwy to work and 25 hwy home in no traffic daily, she's driving maybe 7 miles to work and 7 miles home, but on regular streets with numerous lights. i need to swap with her and see what hers actually gets on mileage on the hwy. thought about doing this for a while to cut down on the mileage on mine, almost 6000 mi. in 3 1/2 months!
I like the description on the limited seeming more "beefy" now i think about it thats on point in my head.
