First post on here. I bought a 2014 Elantra Sport with a stick shift. Love this car!!! Very fun to drive!!!:smile: I'm getting ready to change the oil on it. The mechanic that takes car of the rest of our cars uses pennzoil synthetic blend and napa oil filters. Same price as dealer who uses the same oil. I've also thought about using QSUD. Thoughts and opinions please.
Bluesmurf, there's an entire sticky thread dedicated to oil changes, types, filtering, etc.----> http://www.hyundai-forums.com/md-2011-elantra/154087-official-oil-thread.html Check that out, first. Doubtful you can get through it without arriving to a viable conclusion that will work for you and your budget. :00000732: Welcome to the forums.
If that is the choices given I would go with the QSUD instead of the synthetic blend. Stick with Hyundai genuine oil filters but as Okierich mentioned read the thread provided in the link first.
Personally, I run a Hyundai filter and full synthetic (Mobil-1) at a 7,500 OCI. It's all in your driving-are you a around town guy or a mix of driving? Do a lot of freeway miles?
What oil do you plan on using? Unless it is Dino or a blend.... Personally? I think you could go longer.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
