Dealer wants over $100 to install a front license plate holder. I'm looking to spend no more than $50. Anyone know of a good cheap license plate mount?
Do you actually need some kind of holder/mount or is just attaching it good enough for you? If you just want to attach it, self-tapping screws are all you need. A Hyundai dealer would probably install it for you for free when you get an oil change.
Go to a big box hardware store and buy a couple of 1" stainless sheet metal screws and two cone-shaped faucet washers over in the plumbing section. Thread the screws through the plate and washers...screw into the correct two bumper dimples. The washers keep the plate perpendicular to the ground and offset from the bumper to prevent scratching.
You can also add a license plate frame to the entire unit before screwing it in, also. And no one but you will really notice if there is a plate mount on there, or not. Most people are oblivious to such stuff as this. You just saved about $85 off dealer price and $35 off yours.
It looks like you shuffled the pics to a sub-folder of the garage, which broke the original links.
Perhaps OkieRich can fix that for you (in the other thread).
