Struts

Does anyone know a part # for non-oem struts front left and right... I have the shocks on order but need new struts as well... any suggestions would be great.

Thanks
Dan

Koni is a trendsetter for the Elantra. Maybe others. KYB, my preferred replacement, is still dragging their feet on struts for the MD's. I've called their tech support people so much, I think they have my number blocked, LOL.

Try searching for struts on 2011 Elantras. Some vendors don't even have the 2012's listed, yet. And it's the same strut for all 3 model years.

Thanks for the response... this is frustrating. I guess I have to put oems on... hate doing that!

How quickly do Elantras go through shocks??? I'm worried as my wife's has 110,000KM on it with the original shocks... and my old 626 has more than double that with the original ones...

Well, the KYB's has lifetime warranties. We've had some low mileage Elantra owners post about their OEM shocks leaking, prematurely. How long OEM's last is the $64,000 question. Miles, terrain, ruts, driver demand that is put upon them. Lots to factor in. But the topic at hand is "struts." The "front end" of your gorgeous ride. The KYB's are bringing up the rear. Pun intended.

Do you have a part number for the Koni's? I've been drooling over new rear struts and don't really want to go with the KYB's. I have been a big fan of the Koni's and have been waiting for them to come out

Yeah, yeah, I meant struts. Brain fart

Most roads are unsealed around here, so assuming the poor OEM units are copping plenty of abuse. About to replace the struts in my 626 with KYB units, so may as well go for it while I have the spring compressors and air tools handy

As for the life of the rear shocks, life is not the thing. It's just badly designed for it's one and only purpose.
Myself as well, waiting for a KYB strut. I have a feeling patience will be rewarded, hopefully in the near future.
