I want one as well installed on my 2012 gls. I hope there is someone near the Toronto area to do the installs once you release it.

Hi Chotaben,

Honestly, my software supplier does not provided life time map updates at this time (Naviextras).

But to me, and this is my sole opinion, I think this is a litlle of a gammic.

As you may know, map provider not only update maps but also add bunch of features like POI, 3D landmarks, Reality view, 3D junction views.... GPS sellers buy those maps from the provider and it's a big business.

Why would they give you map updates for free for life... did they ever commit to the frequency you are eligible? I'm sure not. because in a year from now or two your GPS will not have enought of horsepower to support the latest goodies. At the end of the day, they want you to buy a new device and buy also "their extended warranty" that you will use once or twice.

BTW, yes it will be available in th US

Thanks,

Charles

Not sure if the 2012 Elantra can input an external video source like the Veloster. Still trying to find this out. Veloster has this auxiliary cable to rca (white/red/yellow).

If the Elantra tech package for 2012 doesn't support this like the Veloster that would suck. If this is the case could an already existing navigation unit be swapped for this one and everything still work? plug n play? (back up camera, steering wheel, etc)

Any info would be appreciated

Hi Connekted,

I'm not sure if you purchased your Elantra yet and if you're trying to guess what is your best options whatever if you go with the Hyundai tech package or not. I don't know exactly what is included with that tech package but I know a lot of people are complaining about their hefty price (200$) to update the maps. The map software is SpeedNavi made by M&Soft. You may want to look around in this forum as far what people think about it.

As far my system, YES, you are able input composite video (yellow) and stereo sound (RED, WHITE) and play the content on the screen.
If you have already purchased your Elantra with Factory navigation well I will have to investigate your case.
Please let me know your status and we will take it from here.
Thanks,

Charles

hi there, there is a canadian company producing OEM headunits as far as I know. i got mine for Suzuki and Toyota from them like 6-3 years ago. They work awesome! Each has GPS with Igo map, DVD, TV (not really helpful cuz you dont have air in NA), BT etc....Nothing to slice/cut, works plug-in-play with swc etc.... I am highly pleased....As far as I talked to a sales guy they re-assamble them from chinese parts, however the main point youve got 2 years warranty in NA, so I already ordered one from him, it is a lil but price paid 725 incl s/h but it suppose to come with rear view camera and parking sensors. Will post pix shortly...

Regarding to the map - I run Igo 3D 2010 on my other vehicles and I am sure you can update it for free if you know how and thats what I do>>>LOL. Igo also can be loaded into the stock NAVI as well...however I havent tried it yet cuz mine doesnt have stock NAVI

Is there some sort of DIY may be with pix how to remove the stock audio out?????

Hi Charles,

I haven't purchased the car yet. Very close to buying. Thanks for the info. If you don't mind, could you find out some info regarding swapping a previously installed factory navigation with your system?

Thanks again,

Hi Connekted,

100% affimative, I can't put my system on a factory nav. Just buy the standard or premium sound system and you're good to go.

Let me know,

Charles
