Infinity Reference 6030cs

Woofer's comparison

Stock Woofer removal:
Only hand tools were used
Diagonal wire cutter, used to cut and seperate the speaker's brackets
Scissors, to trim the rubber surrounds from the speaker cone (left the rubber surrounds to help cushion the Infinity woofer)

Infinity Woofer installed to stock speaker spacers
Only 4 drilled holes were needed for mounting. Speaker adapters were not used.

Stock vs Infinity tweeters installed

Infinity tweeter and Crossover installed
Input wiring using the factory tweeter connector removed from the tweeter as input to the crossover. Only the tweeters door wiring is used as input, the woofers are disconnected. The factory system does not have a dedicated signal to the woofer and tweeter. Infinity woofers wiring is tied to the center connectors on the crossover.
Space and location for the crossover was perfect.

Woofer installed

How is the overall sound now? Are the new speakers amped? How is the bass response of the new speakers?

Sound is really great! The clarity is unmatched and are noticably more efficient drivers. Volume setting at what was once 17+ can be achieved at 12.
No amp work done with exception of the Compact Powered Sub I recently installed. The Sub gave me the bottom end, now the highs, mid and mid bass comes jumping out at you. Doesn't sound at all like a stock audio system.

Nice. Your install looks great. I was looking at replacing my front speakers as well. How easy or hard was it to remove the door panels? Can you provide any tips or tricks?

Thanks! replacing the front speakers are well worth it.

[b]Front door panel removal:

First roll down the windows
Remove side mirror panel. Pry off, it's held on by snap clips

Remove 2 phillips screws by first popping the covers loose.

Remove the door panel by prying and grabbing at the gap bellow the foward portion of the panel. Start from there and work your way around the entire panel. Panel is held in with push pins.

Carefully raise the panel from the window seal starting from the rear. Hold the panel slightly away from the door and remove the electrical wiring harnesses and door latch clips attached to the panel.
Door latch assembly

[b]Panel removal done.

Take note that reassembly is just as easy if not easier. If you have trouble, don't force it as everything goes together rather quickly.
Test door handle and locks once the panel is in place.

Many, many thanks to you. I'm sure this will be a big help to me and to others too. I'll be installing a subwoofer in this upcoming weekend and probably replacing the front speakers the weekend after. Your help should make everything so much easier now. Thanks again.

No problem, glad I could help.

Coming very soon will be my rear door Infinity upgrade. It'll be somewhat similar install but with a slight mod.
