Experiencing random long starts

2011 Elantra Limited 1.8. Has long starts at random. About every day or so.

Suspected fuel pump/pressure but does not happen specifically first thing in the morning or after sitting all day at work. No Check Engine lights either. Car does have almost diesel like sound at idle, but I am told that is normal - i.e, injectors maybe. Cannot identify a pattern/condition that would point to a specific system, so any help appreciated. Symptoms could point to crank/cam position sensor but I see no check engine lights/codes. No pending codes.

Usual suspects are fuel pump and/or crankshaft position sensor
Guessing to find out it would require more knowledge about the electrical waveform generated by good and faulty part

Otherwise, maybe a fuel pressure gauge or oscilloscope???
Don't know.

Garage
Does it do an extended crank but doesn't turn over like it's starved for fuel?

If so, mine does that at total random if I try to start it after it sits for 2-3 hours but any shorter and longer and it'll turn right over. I've never quite figured out what causes it and it doesn't happen enough to be a problem. If it starts to stumble and crank long, I just hit the button to abort the launch attempt and push it immediately again. Starts right up...so weird.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the battery yet.

Really?....I am assuming you are being sarcastic. Or it could be the blinker fluid is too low.
