Hi Everyone well we got back onto the forum after a while I've had some issues with logging into some of the forums I belong thru. So were back on here looking thru the post's looking for a tpms resetting procedure . I bought a Scan tool to get Ids A Autel -TS401 and Information from TPMS. I bought a programmer to upload the info and TPMS Id numbers a AT-TPM quickset. So I've been pulling my hair out I get the light to shut off now . then after driving a while more then 10 mins it comes back on . If you know of a thread please direct me to it I'm working on A 2012 Hyundai Elantra sedan Limited
Hey Tiger the Autel TS 401 tells you the Transponder Id number and psi and Battery condition and what Frequency it operates at it also activates the transponder at ea wheel. So why does it say on the Forum you have to take it back to the dealer to have the light reset when it stays on. I up loaded all the id Numbers to the quick set tool and went out to the car and up loaded the info and it shut the light off but after driving it for 10 plus minutes the light comes back on and is on every time you restart the car . I had a mechanic put his Snap on scan monitor and programmer on it and it told me the RR was the bad sensor . I replaced it and Have been chasing this since . I'm using a Digital tire gauge and it match's what the Autel tool is saying for tire pressure so I know that right . Its driving me Nuts.....:frown:.....:frown:....
Thanks Tiger if you can think of any thing else I would appreciate it . The race at Bristol is getting ready to Start on Fox it was rained out yesterday. I'll be back on after the race to do some more looking around .
True I'll hook my scan tool a Konnwei -KW-808 and see and see if I have any codes coming up. I seen some were here it had the different codes listed and may be I can get this fixed yet. Its getting to be personal now I thought about black Duct tape I have but I'll still know the light is on. I've bought all these tools for this Car alone so like I said Its personal now I hate doing things half Azzed. I took pride in being a Good Mechanic
Yes, I was more or less kidding about the electrical tape. OTOH, I've had more cars without TPMS than with it so having a non-functioning system wouldn't bother me all that much, but having the dash light on would bother me.
Yea go figure we have gotten along just fine for over a Hundred years and Now all a sudden we need a TPMS I've always checked my own tires. It like my rain indicator if the rock is dry it's not Raining if the rock is Wet it's raining out WTH iff the tires up you should be good If the rim is sitting on the ground it's flat. Every body sell tire gauges manual Digital .Air compressor every one has one now a days cause something needs to be blown up .. Plug in your car or a 110 outlet. They even have battery operated one now . So I'm Done with my Rant now but I will fix this yet or a lot of Black duct tape :wallbash:.........:rant2:
I'm not saying it is a complete waste of a system. However, for a very slow leak, I will see 24 psi in the tire during the monthly check, wonder why, and then find the nail. For a fast leak, I will find the leak when the tire looks flat in the morning. The system really only has two useful situations:
- I drive over a nail at the start of a long trip. So after 3-hours of driving, the PSI is down to 8-10, but I might not notice b/c it was fine when I left.
- I drive over a nail the day after I check the PSI, so the pressure may drop to dangerous levels over the next 2-3 weeks before I notice it.
I guess my next step is to take the tire off and see If I can find the readers at each wheel and check the plug in for corrosion. Then Put them back together and try again if the stupid light come back on. I'll take it to the neighbor and have him plug in the snap -on diagnostic tool and see if all the TPMS are being read at the wheel and go from their. I had pulled the Fuse for # 3 module fuse Under the Dash to try to clear the tpms memory. I haven't done a master shut down ye to see if that helps any either .
