Timing belt

2011 elantra touring timing belt 170,000 on original belt should I get it changed? if so what damage will be done?

What does the owners manual say? I believe the 2011 touring is a completely different design that the sedan. The 1.8 uses a chain not a belt. Ask in this forum.

Either way 170,000 miles is way too long to go on the original belt. I'd change it fast! If it breaks you will be replacing your engine.

Touring still has the old 2.0L

170,000 mile....................................... you should be getting ready to install 3rd timing belt to that engine..

You likely running on borrowed time.. timing belt break = crunch of valves and maybe some engine damage depending on engine speed at time of loss of correct timing...

I'd do it for $150 with you buy the parts.. but you likely aint local
