What does the owners manual say? I believe the 2011 touring is a completely different design that the sedan. The 1.8 uses a chain not a belt. Ask in this forum. HD 2006-2010 Elantra - Hyundai Forums : Hyundai Forum
Either way 170,000 miles is way too long to go on the original belt. I'd change it fast! If it breaks you will be replacing your engine.
170,000 mile....................................... you should be getting ready to install 3rd timing belt to that engine..
You likely running on borrowed time.. timing belt break = crunch of valves and maybe some engine damage depending on engine speed at time of loss of correct timing...
i phoned around the dealer and see if it was done and it wasn't i would like to inspect it and see if its in any bad shape how do i take off the timing belt cover?
sbr711... Where are you located? PM me if you don't want it made public.
You're a great source of information here. Thank you!
