I've hyundai elantra2013 while changing gear by car jerk and sometime it doesn't jerk. Please can you tell what is issue causing car to jerk when changing gear.
IT happens not every time, sometime it don't jerk while changing gear.
Please provide me what is issue causing this problem.
I agree with Don, assuming it is an auto made before the tranny sensor fix. Mine was a 2012 and I had the sensor replace about 4 months ago at 90 some k miles.
Yeah, hope I did not do any damage to my drive train as I drove it for at least a year with on and off funny shifting. It would do it for a day or two, then be fine for two weeks, then the issue would pop up again out of nowhere. I read about the tranny temp sensor issue here, and took her in before the 100k mile warranty was gone. Did the trick!!! These forums are quite powerful!!!
Having the p0713 code and hard shifting on my 12 Elantra... Check engine light just came on yesterday. Was the sensor, in fact, covered under the 100k warranty? I found some threads saying it was only included in 5yr/60k... Which my 5 year ran out January 1. Any idea what the fix costs?
All was covered completely under 100K warranty for me. I bought the car brand new so I had the full warranty. Cost not a dime. IIRC, they swap out the sensor with a new design that has far more robust insulation on the wires thereby preventing the wire failures that plagued it previously. And you get a swap out of fluid (well at least some) when they refill!
Thanks for the info! I'll keep my fingers crossed that I don't get any hassle. Really not wanting to drop crazy amounts of money on this fix, as you can imagine. Got an appointment 820am Friday. Needed the tires rotated anyway. Oh, I should've asked before... Any recollection of how long the repair took? I'll have to wait there... Wondering if I need to bring a book and settle in - haha.
Wow. I have no idea how long it took them on mine as I figured it to be a half day job, tranny internals and all. So I left it all day. You mean I could have just sat there and waited? Ugh.....
You have somebody that do it for .5hr,, take it,, their loss..your win...
BTW,, we get upward of 2.5hr customer pay time I think to repair the 071x DTC with new 1 piece harness-temp sensor assembly.. side pan off, valve body and swap harness.. torque wrench all back together, refill ATF (SP4-M),, and reset trans adaptive learn
It occasionally jerks while driving at lower speed s as if its changing gear..... and even when its parked if I shift between PRND it will occasionally give violent jerks ...
