Afternoon all,

So yesterday morning a lovely beamer driver cut me off mid intersection on my way to work. I swerved left to avoid a collision, which I did. My front left tire hit the median bending the stock rim. I spoke with hyundai and they want $700 for a new rim, or the rim repair shop will fix it for $200, if it can be fixed. Has anyone had any luck buying stock rims online? I researched earlier and saw some for $50-$100, I'm a little skeptical, does anyone know any legit website where I could get a new or used rim?

******* driver drove off after he cut me off...

I got one for $140 as well to use as a spare, the problem with these rims is that most of them are remanufactured due to minor defects, you have to be very wary if you want to do 90+ mph.

If I was in a Porsche RTS, yes to 90+. But an Elantra? Hmm...have to give that some thought. On OEM rims I have. Last March, for example. And one other time several weeks back.

I guess, by those standards and analogy, we're in an INEXPENSIVE KOREAN SEDAN...which takes away our entitlement to avoid things like that? :grin2:

But in all seriousness, if there ever was a reason for a dashcam, that action by the Beemer driver should convince us.
@Noe_Caliendo: Re rims...eBay? Craigslist? Anyone, anywhere, BUT the dealer for a replacement. And filing insurance doesn't help anyone BUT the insurance company with their propensity to "jack up your policy rates." In my case, the deductible/rate-raising wouldn't warrant going in that direction.
