Automatic headlight feature effects HID color??

Hello forum, so I have had 6000k hids in my 2014 Elantra Limited for awhile now and I like the white color but I wanted to move up and try out a blueish color. So I bought 8000ks and they didn't look blue at all, they even had a bit of a green tint to them. So I thought well I'll just go to 10000k then, those will have to be blue. Well, nope once again the 10000k HIDs just look bright white with maybe a tad of blue and green tint to them. From pictures online 10000k should be extremely blue so this is not right. I contacted the company and they said if I have the automatic headlight feature on my car it can throw the bulb color off. They said they would send me some new bulbs because mine would have already been damaged. I have searched all over the internet and can't find anything supporting this claim about the automatic headlights effecting HIDs. What do you guys think? When I get the replacements I guess I'll just turn my headlights on manually and keep them off the automatic mode but I'm wondering if I need to pull a fuse to disable the feature all together? Or is this company pulling my leg. Also, the ballasts I have are high quality ASIC chip metal ballasts, they work great and are not cheap ones. I just seem to have issues with different bulbs.

They make 30k bulbs! You think it they have it.

I agree with the comment above, the DRL is what they were referring to. I bet they were trying to cover up their failure of blue bulbs ad you don't seem to be getting the 10k color as those would be very blue. Who is the company?

Yeah I know blue headlights are useless I didn't want them super blue that's why I originally went with 6000k because they were just suppose to have a tad of blue to them but they didn't, nor did the 8000ks. They are Kensun bulbs but I've tried a few unnamed companies too from 10$ bulbs to 30$ bulbs all the same results really.

I agree with everyone. No, timer headlight does not affect the bulb color. Blue color headlight may penetrate deeper in the dark but human eyes can't process that color. So you get less useful light.

If you want blue, put back the halogens and get those blue bulbs that glows blue but has a shorter life span. Cheaper though. My hid bulb on my other vehicle cost close to 100 bucks each and it puts out 4300K temp. Good luck.

Oh come on, I'm not colorblind. This is what 8000k hids looked like in my car.

When my 3000k lights turn on its slightly lime green color until I fully turn on the car and let it warm. On the other hand when I had the 6k it was able to put put a slight hint of blue after I disarm my car and auto lights turn on but then turns off due to a time duration.

I personally have 6000k Kensun HID's in my car and they are blue, I'll see if I have a picture.

I could see them being blue because you put them in a reflector housing. Mine are just about as pure white as you can get.

From my experience, 6000k brand A is not the same as 6000k brand B...Other member who tried a lot of brand will agree with me.
Therefore, you shouldn't expect true color from cheap HID.
I know Kensun is good as wells as OPT7.
I have Opt 7 5000k with green-ish tint color reflect on the housing but the output is kind of greenish-white.
It rated 35W so nothing to complain. I would worry about how it illuminated the road ahead.

Your bulbs are just bad. Usually, reputable bulb manufacturers dont make past 6k~ Poor quality would result in greenish tint.
I think the optimal blue without losing much output is 6k and 8k is ugly af imo. But CnLight makes 8k bulbs and they are not bad in quality.
Morimoto is considered almost oem quality and they only make up to 6500k and it is blue, trust me.
