So last Wednesday I drove up to the dealer and said goodbye to my E. We have had some great times with this little car and performed a lot of mods as you guys know.

I spent 2 weeks un-modding her so now I have all these parts (Look for them in the classifieds here in the coming days) She went in as a trade still retaining the H&R springs, KYB rear shocks, Honda Fit wiper mod and almost all of the accent lighting save the Avante door sills mod, I removed those.

Items that I have:
The M&S wide body kit (Painted in Desert Bronze as seen in my profile).
M&S emblem cover for the front "H" in the grill and another for the "H" in the middle of the steering wheel
ExLED interior LEDs kit
"Avante" Door sill plates (Light blue when door is opened)
compete sets of low, high and fog-light HIDs
I have the factory springs too, lol
I have a beautiful set of Continental Extreme Winter Contact in the factory size 17" 225/45 with 2 months on them. The tread looks new (unmounted ready to go)
Niche Targa M131 18x8 wheels with 6 month old TPMS sensors mounted with Falken Azenis PT722 225/40-18 Ultra High Performance tires in very good shape and an extra rim (5 total, 4 mounted and balanced) NO rash on these.

I'll still be around since this is a great place and good people as well. I suppose I still like to see what folks are doing to the car. It's a sign of a "car guy" I am told. :) I guess I am a little sad, the car always treated me right. It had 43,310 miles when I locked her doors last :(

I guess I just really missed the V8.

Cheers

Ahh yeah, that little detail. I guess I need to open a new album to log everything I'm doing to it too. Course photobucket is down for my specific album now it seems.... The car was manufactured last month in March. Its a 2016 Mustang GT Premium with options for the 401A package, enhanced security and voice activated Sync3/nav system. This thing is loaded the same way I got the Elantra. It even tells you the actual tire pressure in each tire on the center screen between the gauges... Its pretty much ridiculous... I love it!

I took it back to the dealer today. When I took delivery I noticed a few paint blemishes on the leading edge of the front bumper and we made an appt for today. So after work I dropped her off to have that fixed tomorrow. Currently I'm in a '16 white Fusion, its actually pretty nice. So far just tint is on it (Pics above)

Already on the way are:
Catback 3" exhaust (comes Wednesday)
switchback front turn signals
4th brake light mod for the reverse light
removal of the hood prop and replace with gas struts.
Eibach Pro-Kit lowering springs
Billet PCV oil separator

Next is the wheels and tires.

Well, I would feel sad too if I'd let mine go after all the nice work you did on it.

I wish I were not so far away, I'd most certainly be interested with some of your parts. I wouldn't even need new paint for the body upgrades!

At least, you were part of the inspiration for my plans (and will most likely continue to be, from the archives of this forum).

BTW, Congrats on the new car, it looks sharp!

@Stresstest: love the new ride. I thought I may have heard it start up this morning...way out here in Oklahoma. ;)

You sure know how to make an entrance! Stick around from time to time. Keep us updated on those 1/4 mile ET's. :grin2:

Had to take Mom for a Drs appt and passed the Ford dealer...there was a red one right out in front of the dealership.

Good thing Mom was there to grab the wheel and keep me from turning in...:D

I dunno, all said in done I have almost 2k into it. But it will need to be repainted for your car. make an offer I guess.well under 1k seems reasonable. maybe 800?
Also, I would not ship them, and I'm all the way up the coast from you. Course there is mine and one other that I know of in the country and the other is/was a forum member in the bay area down there. Worth the drive? Maybe.

The coupe? I doubt it bro. infact I am sure the rear bumper does not line up correctly. Someone else used a sedan bumper on their coupe here and the body lines are WAY off.

Sealant every 6 months. Wax every 2.

I use Wolfgang deep gloss paint sealant
Collinite no. 845 liquid wax.

I guess I clay less than the 2 month mark. Basically I do it when I notice several areas with bumps in the paint after washing. And usually not the whole car. I just keep up with the areas as needed.

I would have bought my elantra in manual but to get a fully loaded one the way I did with tech and all the other bells and whistles I would have to of ordered it. No one stocks the cars that way here.

^^^^ +1 About the only thing we do differently is our personal brand preference for wax. And that's just fine. It is, afterall, a personal preference. The important thing is that you use "something" to protect/preserve" that finish from the elements as best you can.

You can only do so much. And I feel compelled to do what I can. Nothing stays new, forever, but you owe it to yourself to delay the aging process for as long as possible.

Besides, all that investment now pays big dividend when it comes time to sell or trade her. As opposed to what you'd receive if you just "threw caution to the wind and let her go."

Re: MT vs. ATX. Driven the manual's for years. Always enjoyed it. Last rodeo was an '85 CRX Si. Loved it. Trying to recapture my youth, I suppose. A great, fun little car.

First ATX in decades was the 2011 E. Got so spoiled I never looked back. Just great memories. If I was between the ages of 16-50, I might reconsider. But at 67, I'm now built for ease and comfort...not necessarily in that order.

The large emblem I still have and the cheap one that covered the "H" on the steering wheel.

The Wheels (5) tires (4) and TPMS (4) are still available as well but bro, really not feeling shipping those

@Stresstest Aw man I forgot about the shipping :( Thanks tho. Wheels looks awesome btw. Did you have to do a custom finish for the wheel spacer to fit or it came like that?

Oh ok thanks for the info!
