Just an fyi there is no spare tire in the limited with 17inch wheels. I read-up on this and can't tell if it will damage the TPMS, so I went to Target to look at equilvent TMK's (air compressor / goo combo's) sold in-store and they claim not to damage the TPMS. After googling have found that some BMW's use a TMK instead of a spare. Any comments?

rock on Elantra owners. you are the greatest.

I love my Elantra.

My wife bought a 2011 Elantra Limited. Didn't realize it didn't have a spare until the next day.

The only real problem I can see is if the side wall gets cut. Then I guess you use the road service they offer.

Might be a long wait. I haven't changed a tire on the road for a long time.

Hyundai said the goo won't hut the TPMS.

I noticed my post posted twice. I don't see anyway to delete it completely.

Here is my Saga

Went to dealer to get a spare tire kit. They ordered the kit as piece items. Tire, rim, jack, tire iron, Styrofoam insert, wing-nut clamp. Turns out it is a full spare mounted on a 15 inch steel rim. The Styrofoam holder for the jack does not fit flush on the rim. It sits up about 2 inches too high on the wheel. Clearly not right. The trunk liner floor will not lay flat. They told me this is the only part numbers they have to get a spare. The owners manual states the spare as a Compact spare tire T125/80D15 4.0T×15. This spare will work with all wheel options on the 2011 Elantra as listed.

P195/65 R15 6.0J×15
P205/55 R16 6.5J×16
P215/45 R17 7.0J×17

Seems that Canadian factory built 2011 Elantras come with this spare set up, but they can not get it her in the USA, even as a replacement part. They told me they are going to research it for me to see what they can do. Anyone able to get this simple part number? The salesman told me spare tire was no problem to get, but this bastardized version is not close to right not to mention the $350 cost.
