My accent Was hit in the front end and I only had liability on it. The car has 53k and runs perfect. I'm in Greenville SC. If anyone needs a good parts car or Engine and 5 Speed manual tranny let me know..interior is perfect as well.
Unless you did structural damage, that should be an easy fix. From what I see from the pictures, all the parts are "hangable" parts and could be had at a junkyard.
If you were closer to Mass I'd take it. Is it a hatch or sedan?
It's totaled there is definitely structural damage. Body is pushed to the point of being against the water pump pulley. It will start but with no water pump belt can't run it more than a couple of minutes.
I used to work for a guy who would buy cars like that and take them to a frame shop, have the bent stuff tugged out and rehang new sheet metal. The frame shop we had was EXCELLENT and used a laser puller so stuff was within mm of spec. We'd fix them and put them on the lot.
The only caveat is once metal is bent, it will bend again more easily if there is another hit. Don't hit anything WBMA.
It would cost $2,000-3,000 or so to fix that, if you got a good price from the frame shop and did a lot of the rest yourself. With 53K, I'd take the gamble.
You guys are really lucky. We can't afford to total a car with such minor damage. Insurance company will try to fix the car even in much more serious damage where the collision damage structure frame and pillars.
Ok anyone willing to give $500 for it can have it ..I'm desperately in need of money..I'm stranded here in South Carolina and don't even have the money to get back home to Florida.
Excellent! Did you get a halfway decent price for it?
With the right setup that car could be put together...not easily, but it could be. If it was bought for rebuilding someone's going to have a decent car, even if they just needed the engine and tranny, etc it will be more than worth it. 53K the car is just getting 'broken in'.
