Took advantage of the awesome discounts and picked up a '17 Limited w/Tech Pkg (White). What kind of mods do you guys recommend for this car? I'm going to start with window tint which should make it look very nice with the contrast to the white paint... I've heard of folks replacing certain bulbs, etc.
Would appreciate hearing what you guys are doing to your rides!
Going to install sills tomorrow...doesn't look to difficult. Just have to take a lot of parts apart. I will let you know how it goes...oh and I bought the sills off eBay
- "trunk mod" using a bungee cord
- changed the backup lights to LED
- installed viofo a119s dashcam
- installed $30 eBay 5000k HID bulbs and bullet style ballasts inside the headlight housing
1.5 months. No issues so far. A lot of people have problems using cheap memory cards. I have 2 a118c in my other 2 cars for a year and no problems either. Just make sure you buy high endurance microsd cards.
About a year. Transcend high endurance if money is no object. Then Lexar high endurance, followed by SanDisk high endurance. I recommend at least 32gb.
Ebay.com had a deal $15 off a $75 purchase today so I bought the mud guards and the aluminum sport pedals for $67.47 shipped from Korea. They usually have this coupon once a month. Deal ended at 20:00 PST.
Here are the mods I have done so far:
55W HID headlights
Street Guardian SG9665GC v2 Dash Camera
LED reverse lights, turn signals, and interior lights
Switchback "Eyeline" LEDs
My mods included replacing the stock HID D3S bulbs with 6000k bulbs to get rid of the ugly yellow tinge, swapping the reverse lights for bright white LEDs, changing the license plate lights to 5000k LEDs, changing the interior dome light to white LEDs from the incandescent stock bulb, and tinting the rear windows 20% with 50% on the fronts. Also slapped on a Stark banner decal (Game of Thrones) for good measure.
Up next is a better set of wheels. The stock 17" Limited wheels aren't doing it for me. I was thinking something like these MSW Type 71 in 18" size.
Here's a sample pic from OZ racing (wheel manufacturer).
Those are nice but not that much different IMO from the stock 18" sport wheels that Im sure you should be able to find as take offs a a larger wheel and tire shop.
If your going to spend the money be sure you only want to go to 18" and not 19".
Hardwired with voltage detector, Street Guardian SG9665GC v2 Dash Camera
K5OS Canbus Control Module
K5OS LAP3 Uncle Chip /w Oil Catch Can and spark plugs (Stupid 91 octane setting cause Utah doesn't have 93)
LED Trunk, glovebox, and License plate bulbs
Weathertech floor mats
15% Tint all around
Smoked Tail lights
Debadged
Black Plasti-dip emblem
