ENGINE RATTLE - 2015 2.4GDI anyone? (audio clip)

hello I drive 2015 Sonata Sporttech with 2.4 GDI engine. I hear crazy rattling crackling noise when there is engine load. Going slight uphil, going up a ramp, or hard accelerating, it rattles crazy. Normal smooth driving is fine but it rattles at any time no matter about low/high RPM when there is load.

the noise is coming right in the middle, bottom part of the engine bay I guess. Maybe something to do with transmission and engine?

Has anyone had same issue like mine? do you guys have any idea what this is?

Just guessing, but might be a loose bottom engine compartment cover. Did this start after a oil change?
If it something major (trans/engine) I would take it to the dealer, as that should be covered by the Drive Train/Engine Warranty.

1 of 2 things.

Spark knock (pre-ignition/detonation)

Failed VCM actuator.

Those are my guesses. Have you had the vehicle at a dealership somewhat recently? Reflash and VCM test campaign has been ongoing for sometime now.

I get it too but i don't think quite as loud. Some say it may be heat shield.

Its been since I bought the car.. Went in to a dealership and they been doing some silly works on my car such as changing oil filter to OEM part, throwing fuel injector cleaner in. I still hear the rattle, I will be requesting for an engine replacement soon under manufacturer warranty..

It looks like they can't figure out what it is.

I agree with jsvob03, sounds like the valves are clattering from pre-ignition.
Keep us posted on what Hyundai says and does.
