2017 Sport 2.0T, Limited 2.4

I have been running around with a 2011 SE and will be purchasing a new model in the coming month. Was curious if anyone here has any feedback on the differences with the 2.4 or 2.0T. I am not worried about all leather or heated rear seats.

Any feedback would be appreciated. BTW, my 2011 SE has been a fabulous car. Outside of the numerous simple recalls, all has been well.

If you like your SE, then a 2.4 probably won't be difficult for you to live with. My Sport 2.0T Limited was a 5 year cancer free gift to myself. I wanted big, comfortable, reasonably quick, and reliability. I also figured for once, I'm getting a car with all the bells and whistles. Thirteen months and 16,000 miles in and I have no regrets. Pretty much everyone gets in and says the same thing: "This is a Hyundai?!?!" Sure the interior may not be as touchy-feely as some other imports, but I'm ok with that. It's still sharp especially with the orange piping on black leather. Interior and exterior are still like new.

Depends on what you value more. Definitely test drive both a few times for the feel, but (for me personally) the difference in amenities steers me toward the Limited.

Most people have blinders that only see engine numbers and forget to take into account everyday comforts. On one hand you have a car that's fun to drive, on the other you have a car that's a pleasure to drive.

That's one thing that's always irked me about car guys lol. "That car is faster blah blah blah...."

YES... No matter how fast your car is, there's always one faster. I't always been my thought that if 0-60 vs cost was the sole parameter to buy a car, everyone should be driving a SUbaru WRX STi and shut up lol. What it offers for the price makes it a great deal. I don't drag race every time I hit the gas pedal lol. Sure there are cars faster than my 2.0T but it's more about the 95% of the time than it is the 5%. Torque delivery is right there. When I'm not driving like a hooligan, it rarely has to shift above 3000 rpms. The comfort is there. The gadgets and looks are there. And when I get on it, it gets out of it's own way. That's all I need. If 0-60 and quarter mile times are your sole parameter for buying a car, then you bought the wrong car.

I'm a car guy but I just purchased a Limited 2.4. The 2.0t was too buzzy and I don't like the character of the engine. It's much louder on cold start and power wise there is a bit of Turbo lag before power comes on. I also preferred the smoother ride on the Limited with its smaller wheels.

Funny....i read an article online yesterday, i believe road & track. They tested the 2.4L & the 2.0T 0-60.....2.4L 8.2 seconds & the 2.0T 8.3 seconds!!! They claim due to turbo lag. I'll stick with my 2.4L Sport, i worry about Hyundai's turbo.

I don't know where they come up with these times but I've walked on several 2.4's and YES they were trying lol. Maybe they brake / boost rather than just mashing it ? I dunno. I am curious to see if the 8 speed makes any difference.

I've gone up against 2 turbos & it was even both times. There isnt much difference plus if it's a limited turbo with the pano roof, that adds extra weight to the car.
