Hail Damage :(

Got woke up mid morning today to find it hailing out. The hail didn't look very big. Maybe dime size. Before I could get dressed and take a old comforter outside to cover the car, the hail stopped. As I walked up to my car it didn't look like it had any damage. But once I got up to the car I saw all the little hail dents. It's got quite a few.
I bought the car used and only had it a little over 2 weeks. I called my insurance company. I'm going this Thursday to get estimates. Got to pay my $500 deductible. I used to have a $1000 deductible with my old insurance company. Glad I only have to pay $500 now.

Sorry to hear about that.

After this is all said and done, talk to our insurance about getting your deductible even lower.

I have State Farm and it only cost me $4 a month more or so to go from a $500 deductible to a $50 deducting. If anything happens to my car I'm not worried, I'll only be out of pocket $50.

That sucks.. Look into paintless dent removal first. I've seen some of those guys work wonders.

Yeah, that's what I kept seeing when I was doing research. The two places I have appt at for estimates Thursday both do paintless dent removal.
I just want it fixed already. Makes me sad every time I see my car.

Given the number of dents, and the cost of even paintless dent removal, don't be shocked if your insurance company tries to write your car off.

The insurance company may total it. There are a lot of very good cars on the road with salvage titles because of hail damage. Daughter spent 4 years in Denton TX at University of North Texas (go Eagles!) and two weeks before graduation got caught in a hail storm with her pristine '06 Elantra hatchback. She had dodged major hailstorms the whole time she was there. We didn't even file a claim because we knew the car would be totaled and there wasn't another one on the road near that nice for the money we would have gotten.

If you finish out your profile (hint hint. ) we would know the year model and could give better advice.
