Question Idle Air Control (IAC) Valve

Can someone please share with me the exact location where in idle air control valve is located (Hyundai Sonata sport 2016)? I am experiencing throttling issues in my car. Thank you in advance.

I'm not familiar with the newer model Sonata but my guess is your engine will have a "drive by wire" throttle, meaning the throttle valve is electronically controlled as opposed to earlier engines that had a throttle cable linking the pedal to the valve on the engine. Engines with drive by wire throttles generally don't have an idle air control valve. On that type of system the PCM just drives the main throttle valve to regulate idle speed.

Thank you so much AUTOSPARK for your reply. Yes, my car has an electronic throttle control system. In that case I guess there is no IAC Valve. Hope i could find the error code for the electronic throttle control system. If you have any idea regarding the trouble code please do share it with me.

About the only thing you can do to an ETC is clean the TB and plate and make sure the connector is seated well.

Take it to the dealer if you are not sure what to do. Warranty is there for a reason....

A word of caution about cleaning a drive by wire throttle body - most electronically controlled throttle bodies can be ruined by manually moving the butterfly.
So if you do try and clean the butterfly and intake, don't move anything inside the throttle body while you are doing the cleaning.

LF does not have an IAC motor,, that be an internal function of PCM to motor driven throttle blade to regulate idle......... same for cruise,,, PCM internal function to motor driven throttle plate and other assorted inputs to maintain vehicle speed.

As some people have said before there is no IAC on your sonata, if you are experiencing a rough idle yuo should take the vehicle to a dealership, your concern MAY be related to a dirty Throttle Body, which is not a covered under warranty, this is a maintenance issue, as long as air filters, tires, flushes and oil changes.

Cheers
