Blue Link Remote Discount

I just talked to a BlueLink rep about discounting my remote subscription.I read here it was possible and I did receive a discount from $212 down to $178.
Still high but worth it to me.I don't like that you can't just get the remote feature without the assurance connected care.

Thanks to whoever posted about the discount. Not a great discount but still a discount.

That's still way too much to pay if all you really care about are the remote features. My 3 month for $15 deal is expiring soon and I'm probably going to just cancel if that's all they offer for a discount. They need to make it $99/year for it to feel worth it to me. Considering getting a traditional remote start installed instead.

You need the Assurance Connected Care at $89.34 a year to connect to the car, both the Remote and Guidance require it.

The guidance at $75 is a joke unless you don't have a smart phone. The Google Search part of Guidance is nice, but not $75 nice. $180 a year to start your car ? ?

With AA and Apple CP, they will take a huge chunk out of people paying for the Guidance. The remote start is not perfect. It needs lots of time to "connect" and is very fussy. Some times 30 seconds and the car starts, some times 2 min before it starts, and a number of time it doesn't . But the Remote also had the "remote disable" feature. That saves me money on my NJ insurance. Just how much is what I need to determine.

I just renewed mine. No need for Guidance. Yeah it's expensive but I like it better than a remote start. I've compared the two systems back to back. The other car - 2016 Kia Forte5 EX has a factory remote start. Sure, it works great when you're in transmitter range. So here at home and from my other half's office window, it can be started easily. I like that I can start my car without being anywhere near it. I mean on a 100 degree Texas day, starting the car from 100-200 feet away while you're walking up to it doesn't get you much cool down time. Starting my car via Blue Link while still inside the mall, theater, etc, makes more sense for me. It's running with the a/c on 5-10 minutes before I get to it. In the 12 months with it now, I've had 6 times where it didn't respond, whether it was server issues or whatever. And I use it A LOT. In the summer months, I use it as my "turbo timer" as well. When I park the car, I submit a request to run for 5 minutes with no a/c after I lock it up. It's never taken more than 90 seconds and it's always under the carport at home. I took a friend to DFW airport last week and parked on the bottom level of the parking deck. It was running even under there when I got back to it.

It does help with insurance as well. After adding my car to the policy last year, I was expecting the monthly premium to double at least. After all the discounts - multi-car, new car, safety features, anti-theft, recovery, shut down, etc, it was $96 a month. The 2012 Forte was $160 a month alone. Now with the 2016 Forte5 in it's place, we pay $248 per month with essentially two new cars, full coverage and $500 deductibles. Gieco. Once we pass July, I will have the 5 year good driver discount added for me. July 2012 - my first accident in 26 years at that time and it was my fault.

Well,I like creature comforts and convenience which costs money most of the time.
One thing I didn't know about was if the Sonata sits 4 days, the remote start won't work.I had that happen a couple of times.

I haven't had that happen. Once I cursed at it thinking it was not working and it was my fault. I never locked the car the night before.
