No spare tire - no Roadside Assistance

Need some of you to get out your Warranty Book for your 2015+ Sonata. Under "Coverage"

Check Roadside Assistance and see if it contains the statement:

Flat Tire Change - except vehicles that have been supplied with the Tire Mobility Kit (which doesn't work in many punctures, below 30 degrees or sidewall damage), and according to many tire places the Kit - ruins the tire for a inside patch.

Hummm I bet your salesmen told you different even though most newer cars don't have spare tires anymore.

Are you kidding?
I thought it was a law that a car must carry a spare even if it was just a doughnut type??
Although on some vehicles, it is so hard to get the spare out that it is just better not to carry all that extra weight
Do these new tires never go flat??

My elentra doesn't come with spare tire so now I was thinking to make the trunk as my subwoofer box.

Actually, I'm thinking of trying to get some law passed (in NJ) that the owner of any car purchased must be informed, before purchase, that the car does not have a physical spare tire .
I'm retired and have the time to do this.

What I'm asking this forum, does your Warranty Book have that statement in it ? ?
I have a 2016 Sonata Hybrid (no spare, nor space for one, nor kit listed by the dealer)

That means for a flat, you will have to pay for Roadside Assistance, since they shortchanged you on a spare too.

I have an Ultimate, there's a big speaker in the back deck, not a sealed system though.

FYI for those just finding out: According to the warranty book (check yours) if your model 2015+ Hyundia has a Tire Mobility Kit, you DO NOT GET Roadside Assistance for a flat tire.

Most car insurance companies will charge you some $7 a year for Roadside Assistance, they will pay for the tow, car rental.
Check your personal policy plan. We have never used it in 20 years, but now I have a new $38K car that doesn't cover a flat tire.

These extra plans also cover your car in case of an accident or other breakdown and cover the tow and rental for a few days.

No spare tire - no Roadside Assistance

Do most 2015+ Sonatas have a tire mobility kit? I don't see that option listed on my Sonata's window sticker, so hopefully I still qualify for flat tire changes (even though I'd probably just change the tire myself instead of waiting for Roadside Assistance to come).

I have a 2015 Sport 2.4L and I have a donut spare in the trunk.
I do plan on buying a steel wheel and putting a regular tire on it so I don't have to run on the cheap donut.

That is my question, do the Sonata models have a Tire Mobility Kit or donut spare ? It seems the Limited model does.

https://www.hyundaiusa.com/myhyundai...=miscellaneous

It seems the Elantra does not have any spare, but the Tire Mobility Kit for the past few years.

So my question to the Sonata group ( I have the Hybrid) is: Have you checked to see if you have a donut (physical spare) or this Tire Mobility Kit.
If you have the Tire Mobility Kit, you may not be getting FREE roadside assistance according to the Owners Warranty Information.

As per Hyundai Warranty Roadside Assistance (mine) : Flat Tire Change - except vehicles that have been supplied with the Tire Mobility Kit
