My question has to do with speaker/music system. i have 6 speakers music system OEM speakers/radio.
all 4 speakers ( front door+rear door) went down all of a sudden and just bleeding very low sound like humming ( no treble no bass). only 2 speakers on the dash are working. i have checked the fade setting its all in center , and if i turned it up to rear speakers , only 5% sound coming from speakers(appx), if the speakers would have blown there would not be no sound, right?
Does anyone know what could be the problem here?
Radio ?
Amplifier in radio ?
fuses ?
Blown speakers? ( all 4 acted up same time)
Outside temperature( its -21 Celsius )
PS : Warranty is expired on music system which was good until 60000 kms )
Radio and Sound Systems (i.e. radio, cassette tape drive mechanism, compact disc player, and GPS), DVD system: 3 years / 60,000 Km
Paint: 3 years/ 60,000 Km
Battery: 2 years / 40,000 Km
Adjustments: 1 year / 20,000 Km

Are you SURE your car doesn't have an external OEM amp? - b/c that would be a very likely cause of this.
Otherwise, it could possibly be radio amp or possibly a short in the speaker wiring.
If possible, I would recommend getting an aftermarket or used OEM radio to replace yours, and if you still have the issue with the new radio, look at running your own speaker wiring.
If speakers blow, there can still be a small bit sound... but very little.
The chances of 4 speakers blowing at once is a bit slim. Constant humming is usually indicative of a short or a bad ground... but where that would be happening is anyone's guess... wish I could be of more help.
I still have my original 5" touchscreen if you find out that you need a replacement... would be willing to part with it, it's of no use to me. It was installed in the car for maybe 6 weeks before I replaced with aftermarket.
The odds of blowing all speakers at the same time is rear.
The factory system could've cooked itself to death.
Sounds muted or maybe phone connection issue.
I would reboot it. Easiest way is to disconnect under hood battery for 15 minutes.
So i looked in under the panel in right side inside trunk , but it seems i do not have any Amp in this car.
i have base model with 5 inch screen, back up camera and 6 speaker system.
Oh well
This problem came back again.
Speaker are working but giving very low sound and no bass at all, and screen resolution/pixels is broken.
All i can think about is just because of cold weather or amp error(i could not locate the Amp ).
does Hyundai make radio/sound system is that cheap material for Canadian winter condition.
Has it happen with any Hyundai owner before? any suggestions?
Sorry to hear.. that's not good. If you are past the warranty period, I would just replace with something aftermarket... You will likely end up paying less in the long run, and can add features you may want (Navigation, etc). I'd personally recommend something from Pioneer's AVIC line.
If you can hear sound from the speaker, but very very low volume, it might be worth pulling the radio head and checking that all connectors are fully inserted. Generally speaking, if the electronics are "blown" they will not recover with a battery pull reboot. And with multiple speakers failing at one time while others still work brings the temperature issue into question. I have seen reduced volume from speakers in extreme cold, but only reduced, not completely dead.
I had an '05 Elantra that suddenly would not receive AM radio, only FM. The antenna was not full plugged in.
I think it is probably a head unit problem, not a speaker problem. I'd look into replacing the head unit first - you can probably get a used OEM or basic aftermarket for under $100. I like Pioneer also ...
So i let my car running idle for 30 minutes with high heater setting.
LCD display screen looks great now , which was discolored/faded last night in cold cabin.
Speakers are giving regular OEM bass now, after cabin got warmed.
So do you still think it could be head unit problem or speakers freezing up ?

Any LCD will go funky in extremely cold weather, nothing to worry about there.
As for the sound... it definitely does sound like speakers. Very interesting. Did you notice if they all come back gradually or all of a sudden? What kind of overnight temperatures are we talking here? -10C? -20C? I know you guys in the Prairies have been in a bit of a deep freeze
Personally, I somewhat doubt it is speakers, as I don't think re-setting the head unit would fix a speaker issue, but you also warmed the car up at the same time.
For cold resistance, the OEM speakers are probably better than anything you could swap to. They are likely (haven't checked) cloth or paper surrounds and paper cones - not great for sound quality, but probably better for cold tolerance.
Don't sweat the LCD. As stated above, it's the nature of the beast. Back when they first came out you couldn't leave an LCD out in the heat because it would go solid gray, no response. Lots of folks who bought first generation LCD watches learned this when leaving the watch in the sun while relaxing in the pool. Now they do well in the heat, but the extreme cold still shuts down the chemical media that creates the contrast between the crystal layers. It doesn't get cold enough here in central Texas to verify, but there was a time when if you got one cold enough it would still work, but respond very slowly and with poor contrast.

So i could not able to figure out yet. All 4 door speakers system gradually pick up bass after 15-20 minutes running of engine/heater and works all right until car get cold again. ( May it be problem in headunit ?)
OR should i give a try and open the door panel off to see the speaker are wet/frozen. does anyone has some steps for taking door panels off?
if they look ok then i can try try removing headunit off and reconnect the connections.
PS reset button on headunit doesn't solve the issue (heated cabin only solve the issue temporary)
The door panel is easy to remove... You will need a pry tool (preferably plastic so you don't scratch/mar the trim).
The process is the same as the YF:
I'm highly surprised that all four speakers are affected, if that is indeed the problem.
There should be some threads on the Sonata forum on speaker replacement.
The only thing I can think to recommend at this point, and it's a bit of a long shot:
Disconnect one of the speakers and take it in the house until it warms up. Then take it back out to the car and re-connect it. If it plays fine, the speakers are the problem. If it still sounds muffled, the head unit is the issue.
Then, depending what you find out, you need to decide if there is a way to insulate the speakers or insulate the head unit, or if you want to replace the head unit (which might have the same issue after you spent the money on it).
Before you take things apart try this; Take a hair dryer on warm, not melt the plastic hot, turn on the radio and blow warm air into the speaker grill. See if that speaker goes live before the rest. If it does, you have an environmental issue. If all speakers slowly come up together, the problem is in the head unit.
I am nothing if not lazy, and I hate going into doors when I am not sure the problem is there.
