I have mixed feelings about this. I really like the way the wheels look but not on the car. Reason being there’s too much bright work (chrome) on the car. They would actually look better on the car if there wasn’t so much chrome on the car. I’ve pondered this also. Just a point of view.
I would do the chrome trim as well. Then it would be a true murdered out car. Not a fan of all the chrome anyways. I'm looking to get mine blacked out as soon as I can come up with a few buck to have it vinyl wrapped.
has anyone done the rims that come with the 2.4L sport? I'm debating doing mine because a) they aren't thin-spoke like the turbo/premium wheels are and b) they're already 2 tone, so if i do dip them, idk if i want to keep the 2 tone look and just cover the brighter metal with dip or if I want to do the whole wheel.. I tend to think that the thinner-spoke wheels look better dipped than the wheel that have beefier spokes.
I feel you vwsonata, I really want a nice wheel but I have a hard time finding what I like. I have been looking at these Niche wheels in 17 x 8, they do come in 18 x 8 but I dont really want to buy new tires to.
I plan on dipping the wheels with a black base, then doing a burnt orange flake (to match interior) with dyc top coat. I just need to find the time. Im also looking into a set of AG Wheels. 19" f230's.

I was thinking of doing my wheels but in either bronze or gold metal flake. I want to get a gold or bronze wheel anyway but I prefer either color in a matte over shiny.
Well, I finally broke down and decided to try plastidip today. I've never really liked the stock wheels on the Sport, but this helps me a little. Pretty happy with how they came out, considering how cheap and easy the process was.
Black out all the chrome and that car will look amazing...then once again, submit it to corporate and let me park my car there and take a picture one day.
Sweet man. Looks great. I posted recently about a minor scratch I have in one of my rims from a curb. Any recommendations for a self fix or taking it in?
It's not Plastidip, but it's similar so I figured I post it here. Used it on my Wheels, Mirrors and Spoiler. Really like the way it came out considering it's my first time every painting anything.

This looks just crazy COOL! You have cojones to do it in That color. This PlastiDip looks better and better idea every day. My rims are in really $hitty stage. They are alloys but plastic coating is peeling off, they oxidize when exposed, etc. I am going to spend few $ and do it!
Does anybody has a solution for painting callipers? They look good only in showroom. After few months they start to change color and rust. But, I am not into some baking paint. Something simpler but durable. I tried hi tepm paint - does not work. After few months - rust again.
Really thinking of dipping my car (wheels, trim's). I don't like the chrome on my car, but I can't decide on what color to dip my wheels. I was thinking Mate Black or Gold. I was also thinking on plasti dip the chrome trims mate black. Any feed back would be really appreciate it. I have a Lakeside Blue Sonata with the stock wheels and all around tinted windows.

All depends on the effect you want to create.
Contrast color to blue is yellow/orange.
Gold will stand very bold! Everybody will turn heads!
Best way is to take a picture of your car, load it into some picture editing software and play with changing wheels color.
Most important is what You like not what other suggest.
I never thought about editing the pic before. That is a great idea.
Thank You MaybeHundai.
