First major ding on the car. 3 Month into ownership, was driving through some crappy downtown Houston roads today. Road was very congested, I was exiting a parking lot with a ramp, didn't look too steep at all, but the bottom of the ramp is not very smooth. There was a police officer (or maybe mall security) directing traffic..
As he stopped the traffic on the main road, so us waiting to exit can finally get going, he waved at us shouting ALRIGHT LETS GO, LETS GO, GO GO! I gave more gas than I should, and I heard the unmistakeable sound of impact as I was making the turn onto the road. Didn't think too much about it, after all, small scrapes do happen, it's part of life. I thought it was just a few nasty scratch on the bottom of the bumper that nobody will ever notice. But when I got home and parked up, OH MAN!
Definitely more damage than I thought. No cracks, so that's good. But I'm missing a whole chunk of paint at the bottom. Not very visible when standing up, unless you are looking for it, then you can definitely see the rough edges of the paint. But if you are looking at it horizontally, it's definitely visible.
Dealer says there are still no touchup paint available for 2015 sonata (really? wow), so now I can't do anything except to live with this:crying2: Must've hit one of those rough pavement rocks, instead of just a simple scrape....
I certainly hope the paint around it won't start lifting due to a big chunk of paint missing like this?
