I have a 2000 Hyundai Accent. I am in process of cleaning my Mass Air Flow Sensor. I was told you need a T-20 Torx Bit to remove the 2 bolts. I purchased the T 20 at Peps Boys and it is not the right size. D oes anyone know what size it is ?

Thank you.

Dear brown,

Is this bolt a Torx bolt with an inner star shaped surface and not flats?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torx

or is this bolt a metric allen hex bolt with 6 even flat surfaces? http://www.fastfixdirect.co.uk/code/naviga...tCategoryID=421

I only ask because Hyundai normally uses allen hex bolts, whereas GM used the Torx bolts.

it is the inner star. I just spoke with Hyundai dealer . They advise not to remove botls but only remove the connectring hose on the top of the sensor!! Does that make sense?

brown,

Yes it does make sense if your car is under warranty and you do not want to void your warranty.

Do you want access to clean it? You can disconnect the duct from the front and rear of the MAF housing and have excellent access to use a MAF cleaner and a shop towel to gently clean.[attachmentid=4408]

Hey folks, first post here - have the same MAF P1128 ODB code with CEL on my 01 Accent GS 1.5L.. going to replace the MAF but just wanted to know how easy a job is this to do on my own?

Looks simple enough - any caveats?

Thanks!
