I was looking to get an SEL but found out that Blue Link is only available on the top model. I was looking to add remote start. Posts from Hyundai said that the Ioniq models would have it. Too bad.
You should be able to add aftermarket remote start fairly easily to any car. What the OEM remote start with BL gives you is the ability to start the car and change the HVAC settings from your cel phone - but it costs $300 per year with the other BL services.
No - there are lots of remote starts that allow you to press lock 3x on the OEM fob to start the car.
The drawback of adding a remote start is that if you ever encounter a no-start condition on the car, the dealer is going to say the remote start is to blame and the remote start company is going to say the OEM start circuit is to blame ...
I haven't been able to find anyone who can install a remote start on our Ioniq. Too new of a model.
