Hi all

hoping my I20 comfort will be with me in the next few weeks, fingers crossed

just wondering how good the ipod connectivity is. can u cycle through the songs using the steering wheel controls etc rather than having to physically touch the ipod (not good when driving)

also do track names etc show up on the radio display?

thanks

don't have an ipod, but i am using the USB stick, that shows up the names of songs, artist, album etc (not all at once mind) on the heads up display. you can use the steering mount controls to change track, and the knob on the radio closest to the driver will allow you to find and pick a song very easily. with the ipod connect as far as i know it will be like this.

trust me, u ll be very pleased

excellent car

I use a usb stick also - drag and drop music on it (with the pc) and as KDC states you can up and down tracks with the steering wheel right hand control and the right hand knob on the dash enables a quick change of folders or precise choice of track. Track titles and folder name gets displayed. I have a ipod nano but not even tried it as usb so good.
Excellent quality. You'll love it.

Your question hasn't really been answered, so I'll answer it.

Firstly, the Hyundai stereo uses the iPod itself to play audio, not its own internal decoder, so you need the Hyundai supplied cable. It connects to both the Audio and USB connections, as sound is not transferred through USB like it is with other iPod products.

Secondly, the iPod is non-functional throughout playback. All controls are on the stereo, and are explained in the manual. They're quite intuitive; All you really need know is that the Down Arrow ("FLDR" button) is the equivalent of moving back one menu on the iPod (i.e. Track name > Album > Artist) and the right rotating control is for changing menu options. Press it inwards to select.

Thirdly, all track information comes up on the centre display; The screen on the iPod is not used. You can leave it in the small well where the input is safely and not look at it for your whole journey.

Hope this helps!

Can't speak about the Ipod, but I've discovered that if you use the USB stick, you can use the up and down arrow keys (second column form the right?) to move through the folders; using WMP11 "sync" to move tracks, each album gets its own folder on the memory stick, and the album name is displayed (in smaller text) above the track number and name.

You can use the steering wheel control, or right hand knob, to go through the tracks.

We have a 2009 Santa Fe. The owners manual states that the iPod supported models are: Mini, 4G, Photo, Nano and 5G. A friend wants to sell me a 16GB iPod Touch (2nd generation). Does anyone know how well this will work, if at all? I would buy the Hyundai connection cable.
